Looking for a basic system using a mixture of barcodes and codes. Want it to be EASY to set up and use. Just need it to keep track of stock value for insurance.
Looking at Turbocash's POS side - anybody use it?

Hi! Why not try POS-i-TILL? Ive been using it in one of my retail shops and it does the job quite well. First enquire about it and they will send someone to do a free demo. Its worth a try.
Haven't come across too many open source POS systems aside from TurboCash, but can say that TC's system is more than adequate and the beauty about it is that it is linked to the Accounting system so makes for seamless book keeping.
However from the sound of it you are looking for a very simple system that does not require all the POS systems as it is more for keeping track of stock only, or will you be using it for your sales records too?
The system I have settled on can be found at http://denverresearch.com/ very small. easy to use and set up but pretty powerful. Cost R2000 but after trying about 5-6 free ones it has been money well spent. Now just trying to get all my inventory up by the 28th Feb..
Forgot to add that they have a demo that you try out.
