    Six-Sigma management philosophy

    Six-Sigma:

Has anyone had any practical experience with the "Six-Sigma" (ISO) management routines for "continual improvement philosophy"? Anyone care to share their ideas about it?

My partner did the course ± 1995, he was sent to the UK.
He states, 'this is a huge system, after many months of training (plenty of stats and calculations) and then training the staff to use the system, it took plenty of effort to implement and sustain. As long as the company has the resources to sustain, this system is very effective'

Maybe it is just me, but that just strikes me as wrong. All those resources lost to administration — surely there must be a way of achieving the same goal with fewer resources?

It gets better. The motivation behind many of these higher standards systems is that they reduce costs!
