Hello everyone!

I'm currently doing my masters degree in IT at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) and my research aims to help SMME's in South Africa with better protecting their stored data (employee/customer/financial etc) while also assisting in better positioning the business when it comes to data protection related legislative compliance.

My request to you is: If you own or manage a business, please could you take some time to answer my research survey! (All responses are anonymous)

Alternatively if you know anyone (friends/family/coworkers) who is in a position to answer it, please could you pass the survey link on to them! The only criteria is that the business must operate within South Africa.

You are far from the only person who isn't aware of popi and its compliance requirements.

Interestingly, a large portion of business owners/managers who claim to know about POPI have this idea that it isn't applicable to them. However POPI is applicable to everyone!


Once the regulator has been established I'm sure there will be thousands of owners/managers out there who will be running around trying to get their act together
