Standard bank still struggling with their internet banking?

Is it just me or is Standard Bank's internet banking still not working well?

Their home page opens fine, then:

    - Either the log on page just hangs and no password boxes appear, or
    - I get in, but one of the tabs (either payments or statements) is unavailable and it kicks me out back to the log on page, or
    - Its just really slow between each page. Sometimes taking 30 seconds to react to my click or
    - On the rare occasion, when I'm really lucky, it works fine.

This has been the story since the systems crashed a few weeks ago.

    Its becoming annoying now.

I've also had similar problems a couple of times this week already.

They are running an apology on their home page ... if you wait about 30 sec for the banner to scroll to its 6th image.

Not being able to log in is one thing, but when it lets me log in, capture the payment details for a once off payment, wait for the OTP ..... and then fails. That's another level of frustration.

            FNB here we come.

There seem to be many happy business accounts with FNB. Many of my company customers are with FNB and the odd one with Nedbank.

The FEEs what fees, join Standard bank and you will learn more about FEES

The biggest draw card for me is the cheque card (with no fees) which Standard cannot provide on a business account. Making most of my purchases via my Debit card is getting expensive and transfering between accounts and waiting 3 days from my business account to my credit card is not even funny (Standard bank to Standard bank)

Reading about Andys experience and the savings accounts linked etc, just sounds like a good choice to move.

Getting seriously irritated now. I run businesses, so I know things go wrong, but this is taking forever to fix.

Typed in 8 payments to be made ... then it hangs. Waste of time and effort.

Went to Nedbank (Westville) today to cash a cheque, certainly won't be moving in that direction, sitting like a fool in que with a number. Then their system went down in house. 😏 and so we waited until they realised, the machine she was broken. Eeeeish.

Standard bank has really f&*^&*d something good and proper now.

You cant access Standard bank via the internet and now when you try use the app (which worked before) it tells me i have tried to enter an incorrect password more than 3 times. I followed the instructions to retrieve a new password now it tells me my card number and pin dont match.

Now i am really screwed, i havent been able to pay wages since yesterday and people want their money

I bank with FNB. One of the things I like most about them is that I've never had to go to a branch to do anything. In fact, the last time I had to go to a branch was when I went to close my Absa accounts almost two years ago.

I have been taking note of were my customers bank. Looks like FNB is becoming the most popular.

Back in the day Nedbank was one of the popular business banks, but it doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

I've stuck with Nedbank for 40 years, through their ups & downs. I can say with certainty that in the last year or so there has been some changes--the sort of changes i was looking for

Found another fee which i havent noticed before. Because i havent been going into my overdraft there have been no interest charges, etc, etc. However on friday i noticed an overdraft fee of R450 (overdraft initiation fee) I contacted the bank to find out what it is all about.

I am told that it is a yearly fee they charge which is a percentage of the overdraft with a min fee of R450.

Sometimes i wonder how a small business is suppose to survive with all the fees and costs. No just bank fees but, taxes, UIF, DOL, Bargaining council, bank, Cipro, workmans comp, ECB, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc. I can understand why so many small operators are pirates.

Then, when you DON'T use the overdraft, they charge a fee for "unused facility"
