    CC closed overdraft outstanding

    Hi,
I need assistance please. I closed our cc some 9 months ago but have an outstanding o/draft. I am willing to settle my portion of the outstanding amount but my ex partner does not wish to. The result is apparently ones name becoming tarnished with credit bureaus etc, which I dont want. How do I get the bank (FNB) to convert the outstanding monies so I can settle my 50%. They seem to simply want the debt settles and they dont care who does or does not pay.

No idea really, but I guess you and your ex partner are 'jointly and severally liable'? That means the bank can go after you or your ex partner or both for the full outstanding amount.

About the only thing I can think of trying without ending up with a judgement against your name is purchase cession of the full debt from the bank, and then sue your ex partner for their 50%.
      Participation is voluntary.
