[Question] Company names and vat registration

A question, If i am a sole prop and i am registered with vat, can i be trading under a variety of names using the same vat number?

    ie: Joe Soap...vat number 123456
    trading as

    (names just used for example)
    Joes plumbing
    Wood creations
    Ally creations
    Joes power tools
    etc..
all with the same vat number.
Can i use the same bank account for all the names, in other words can i open 1 bank account under the name Joe soap and use it for all transactions.

I stand to be corrected, but when it comes to VAT, I should think your "trading as" names should be listed on your VAT registration in the trading name section.

If I am not mistaken, the "Trading as" has also been recently abolished, and requires you to register each entity as an individual business.
