    Computer recovery

Please help those with the knowledge. A friend of mine lost about 80 gb's of downloaded music when her desktop gave problems. She then hit the recovery button and this was when all disappeared. Can this be retrieved and if so how? Will the recovery of a earlier stage work?

      Little more info needed...

But if she did a recovery it is possible that it has done a recovery of the OS meaning the hard drive were formatted and a fresh copy of the OS loaded...

Very difficult if impossible to recover because most or all the music were overwritten....

The professional recovery specialists will ask about R 6000-00 to try to recover....

Was the music on a different drive to the operating system (windoze I assume)? What was the problem she encountered and what exactly did she do in order to 'recover' from the problem? There are some tools available that may help but it's hit and miss at best. I'll track some freeware down for you when I have a few minutes spare.

You can get free software [open source]. That can recover files even after Hard Drive has been formatted.
