Yay! It's not just me that has this system of time management.

It's really p'ing me off that TFSA has had to slip down the list for a while, but it'll come back up the list soon

        Great thanks Ian,

Priority management to me is basically Time/job management. Breaks dont stop the stress of everyone Dave.

Would you hire someone to counter a Stressful issue (managing Staff,Training Staff etc)
Or would you push through it and keep that stress with you making your business suffer during said time?

This is the kind of stress management I'm interested in.

          Thanks for your input guys.

I am actually in a very difficult situation. Finding people with my skill set is a very challenging task if at all possible. That is my first problem. The second is training someone is not truly practical, as it is the experience that is currently making my business a success.

So I actually need to scale down my business in terms of Internet Marketing consulting. I am therefore going to diversify my business and scale down on the consulting services until I get to the point where I actually have trained staff that can assist me in the consulting game. I am completing 2 of my contracts this week, then I should be back in normal street, if there is something like that.

Reading this thread again it is often the little detail on how to operate a business that can cause major problems. I really would like to see a well compiled list but somehow the little things can creep up behind you and next thing you know, ... slap! So how do you put those in a A-Z list?

Roelof, I think you face the same problem as any experienced professional. There is only so much you can delegate.

You know, it doesn't seem that long ago that the world was awash with accountants, for example. Now it seems there's this global shortage. And it's not just accountants. It's all sorts of professions.

I'm quietly wondering how much the pay-for-time trap has affected this.

I would say this thread is one of those that need to be continually updated. When you come across something that is slapping you in the face jot it down and we can all learn from it.

Sometimes one needs to look at the amount of work one does Roelf. Maybe you could give off some of your work load to someone you could hire.... Accountant/Analyst/Programmer (to design a program to work for you and reduce your problems) etc

I'm sure you are doing more then just consulting as we as business owners know you don't ever just do one job.

Hrm interesting... ill look into it.

Anyone have some insight about owning more then one company? And the extra charges you get for having more then one company? Does this also apply to 1 CC T/A 2 seperate companies? or is it related directly to the CC that you have.

The biggest "disadvantage" at the moment is you lose a whole pile of tax breaks you might qualify for.

The other thing you have to be careful of is diluting focus.

Hrm,... would creating a PTY with umbrella companies still be considered the same problem?

I have different companies that are focusing on Lateral business. For example,
I have belateral cc which are mainly focused on seminars and workshops
samarketing cc which are a marketing leg and are responsible for marketing
Omnus Solutions CC that are responsible for events etc. And so forth, all of these businesses are working together to deliver related services. My focus are therefor not divided but my risks are. Each of these companies take individual financial risks for certain things, therefore if one meets the doom the others are safe. There are other reasons for this as well but that is not important right now.

Just an added note, there are tax implications in running businesses like that, just keep that in mind else you might pay more to SARS than you should.
