I buy myself a Noseweek from time to time, just to take a sample of the "skulduggery-level" in our rainbow nation. I am seldom disappointed.

The latest edition deals with, amongst other things, some of this country's exploding budgets - it makes interesting reading - remember, this is our money:-

Cost of the arms deal: Was R30 000 000 000
Is now: R50 000 000 000

Pebble Bed Modular reactor: Original estimate: R847 000 000
Latest estimate: R31 900 000 000

2010 FIFA World Cup: Was R2 300 000 000
Now R23 000 000 000

Gautrain: Was R4 000 000 000
Now R25 200 000 000

Taxi Recapitalisation: Was R4 000 000 000
Now R7 700 000 000
