    Rand/Pound exchange rate.

    Hi all

I need some advice if you please.

I am emigrating to the UK in a few months time, but with this current fiasco on the exchange rate I am very nervous. Does anybody foresee an improvement in the rate, how long will it take? Or should I start getting as much money as I can out of the country now?

    Thanks.

    Anyone got a crystal ball?

Now I know why some people invest in stamps and other top collectibles.

I have stamps - a couple of boxes full which set me back a few clams many years ago. I am told that I should be sure to remove the glue from them so as not to stuff up the ecological balance when placing them into the receptacle marked paper, when going to the dump.

I fear the rand/pound rate may have a similar fate. One may have to remove the wire bit in the middle of our notes and join the queue with the cable theft guys to obtain fair value.

I feel for you moving to the UK, (in more ways than one) but this issue of cashing in at the right moment is like playing roulette. Hey there's a plan - split a roulette table into three month portions with the dates of each month in the sections. Then Line up the wheel and roll away..............

Sorry - I wouldnt have a clue at this stage with the world in a turmoil and SA looking at big changes, this is going to be a tough call.

      Good Luck out there.

I am Austrian and I lived my whole life in Europe till 2 1/2 years ago when I moved to SA, but I can tell you this: the UK is the last place where I would move to. There are so much nicer places in Europe and I haven't met anyone in my life who would want to live in the UK. Sry for saying that, but I would definitely rethink your decision. If it is because of your job or something then okay, but if it is out of personal circumstances... I would NEVER!
