Please I would like to register for VAT, Would you please give me clue on how to go about it, because I am clueless.

You only have to register for VAT if your annual turnover has or is likely to exceed R1million.
You can choose to register if your sales have already exceeded R50'000 within the last 12 months.
To register, go the the SARS website and download the VAT101 registration form or get one from your local SARS office. This form needs to be completed and handed in together with various supporting docs. You apparently now need to apply in person as they sometimes conduct interviews to verify the information you have supplied.
Once approved you are given a VAT number and certificate. -

I recently added a page on the TFSA wiki about VAT. In the end there's so many things to consider I ended up doing a real basic entry and a link to the SARS VAT documents page.Participation is voluntary.
