[Question] Pastel Partner - Indication of GP% when doing quote

    Hi,

Is there an existing functionality in Pastel Partner where you can check the GP% of a specific item while preparing a quotation for a customer? Ie. If I want to make sure that I am not underquoting on a specific item, can I check this while I am in the quotation screen? As I might be adding a number of items on the one quotation, I don't neccesarily want to check each item's masterfile for costing etc.

Any ideas or workarounds for the above?

    Thanks!

    Hi J7J,

    The short answer is No.

What you can see, while processing a quotation, is the selling price and cost price of an item by pressing the F5 function key when you are on the Price field of a document line item, so you can see the two numbers, but not the difference (GP) or the GP%.

    Some alternative options to consider:
    • Under Setup...Inventory, you can define the minimum GP% for processing. You will then receive a popup warning, while processing a line item in a quotation, sales order, or invoice, if the GP% is less than your predefined GP%.

    • I can create a BIC/ODBC Excel report that will list all the current GP% amounts for your stock items - simply press Ctrl-F on the spreadsheet to jump to a particular stock item to check its GP%. The spreadsheet will be dynamically linked to your Pastel database, so it will always be up to date. This option might be a bit quicker than the option of browsing to a particular stock masterfile record in Pastel.

    Hope this helps!

Just a thought.................Is it not possible to put a field in the form that will give you the GP but obviously you will have to print the quotation first to see this and you do not want the customer to see this. Catch 22.
