    [Question] Pastel ODBC

    Hi,
I recently joined a company using Pastel, a lot of there reporting is done by running exports or other reports and then punch that into Excel. I want to write macros to automate this, but don't understand the structure of the tables. I can't seem to get the qty on hand from the multistore or inventory tables. Does Pastel calculate the qty on hand from transactions tables or by some other means?

I basically need the qty on hand, sales order qty and PO qty's. Where can I find these figures or how must they be calculated?

Sorry cannot help you with Pastel - don't use it because it always seems to be bitty.

But I would imagine that the numbers you are looking are within the basic reports that pastel must produce. They are after all basics of an accounting system. Then save those across to excel. I do not know whether pastel holds the basic transaction data and recalculates everytime it runs a report or not. Again this seems to be an old way of doing things - besides being slow and resource intensive.

Thanks, I think I might need to run an export for now and use macro's to manipulate that data into what I need.
