[Opinion] SAGE Pastel Xpress version 19.4.5 Infested by a VIRUS!!!!!!!!!!

Good day to all

I have tried to install Sage Pastel Xpress version 19.4.5 - but it was flagged to having a virus and the installation was aborted. I tried reaching Sage but they could not help.

The contact centre were adamant that there is no virus in the package. We tried installing on a different machine with a different antivirus - and the package was flagged again.

We contacted sage again, but their best advise is for us to uninstall the Antivirus so we can install the Sage Virus onto our server thus exposing our clients to fraud and data theft. After contacting these people, it comes across as this is a deliberate move by Sage to install viruses on our machines so they can steal data or alternatively, they might be wanting clients to migrate to their online platforms.

Can anyone recommend a good alternative accounting desktop software that we can try out. Thank you.

Where did you obtain the installation file?

I have been installing Sage Pastel at multiple sites, including my own, and I have never experienced what you have described, so I am quite surprised by what you said.

I have recently installed Sage and have had no problems. Tried the free trial before signing on.
best would be to check the vendor where you bought the package.

I have had a similar issue recently with paid norton AV blocking the download and install of pastel, neither creating an exception or pausing protection helped, i had to uninstall the AV to get pastel loaded.
Always download pastel from the official site.
