    [Question] Pastel Accounting Error Message

    Good day, All

    Can you please assist me with an error message I receive when I want to update my General Journal. (The contra account contains sub accounts, or it has been deleted).

    This is the first time I receive this error message. Please help.

    When you post a journal, you enter the first account either as a debit or credit, complete the description and amount, then you select the contra account, which is where the opposite side of the entry goes. The contra account you are using either contains sub accounts, or has been deleted. Check the contra account, then go to edit general ledger accounts, and confirm that sub accounts have not been added to the account. If so, change the journal from xxxx000 to xxxx010. If the account has been deleted you will need to create it again, then run the data integrity check. This will give you account balances to transaction errors, which will either need to be fixed by a support consultant, or by sending your data to Sage.
