[Question] Problems with migrating to Sage on line from Pastel Partner

Please help! Probably Neville but anyone who can point me in the right direction!

Our company has been using Pastel Partner for years. We send out about 500 invoices every month - usually recurring but often need to change, update some of the invoices every month. We also use the recurring receipts and the bank manager. We want to be able to allow for more than one user and are considering updating to a cloud based system but are worried about what it all entails. Pastel support has not been very helpful and I worry about migrating.

Can anyone give advice, happy to pay for a consultation with someone who knows both systems.

Reading between the lines, it seems that you are happy and familiar with Pastel Partner, and nervous about changing to a new cloud-based system.

I assume you are looking at a cloud-based system because of the ease of access from various locations.

Have you considered signing up with a service-provider that offers Virtual Servers? You can install your tried and trusted Pastel Partner on the VM, and users can log onto the VM from their computers (or tablets/phones) and then use Pastel Partner as usual. Pastel Partner does not need to be installed on anyone's local computer.

You then have the best of both worlds - access from anywhere in the world, using a system that you are familiar with.

I am not familiar with Sage One, the browser based system, but I would be surprised if it can offer all the functionality that you currently have with Pastel Partner. I stand to be corrected though.

I can highly recommend Craig Allsopp, the MD of I-TEAM who offers VMs. He has set up a VM for many of my clients, including myself. You can contact Craig at craig@iteam.co.za. Please tell him that I referred you to him.

We decided to try out Sage online as they did they conversion for free and gave us 2 months free trial period. It is less than half the price of Pastel Partner and the only reason I renew every year is for the bank manager. So far Sage online is looking good tho I had to convert 500 invoices - quite a mission! Thanks for your help Neville, you have been a lifesaver in my rather perilous journey with Pastel!
