    [Question] Pastel 18 Invoice import

I have created several hundred invoices in Excel using the Header/Detail layout that I got from Pastel.
Exported it as a csv file.
And then imported it into Pastel.
Pastel tells me that x invoices have been successfully imported.
BUT - the amounts are all blank.
I am sure I have done something silly but cannot figure it out.

Please can someone have a look and tell me what I have done wrong.

    Hi Paul,

I've had a look at your sample.csv file.

In the Header lines, insert 1 in column Y and in the Detail lines, insert 001 in column N.

Let me know if that helps - everything else seems to be in order.

      Morning Neville,

      Thanks for the reply.

I tried exporting an invoice and then had a look at the csv file and the only difference I could find was the 1 in column y.

Anyway I have added the 1 to column y and a "001" to column N but the amounts are still zero.

      Here is the csv file
      sample.csv

And the tax invoice summary listing.

Pastel help isn't much help - they just sent "Import/Export File Layout for Customer and Supplier Documents" from their knowledge base. Same as the one I had.

      Regards

        Hi Paul,

I've figured out where the problem is.

You need to insert a space in the Header lines, in columns Z, AA and AC.

That is crazy - those fields are not even on the official file layout?
How did you find that out?

            Neville,

That seems to work. I have left out the 1 in column Y and 001 in column N. Just added the spaces in the three columns.

I say seems because I have imported and deleted so many batches now I will have to wait for the wife to restore the backup, and import again and then see if she is happy.

              Hi Neville,

Eventually she got around to it and it worked perfectly. Thank you.
How did you work that out? There is nothing in the Pastel documentation and I am sure even their telephone consultants do not have a clue.

              Thanks again
              Paul

                Ahhh - I understand now.
Invoice Message is 3 columns and Delivery address is 5 - which makes Z=Freight Method, AA=Ship Deliver and AC=email status.
