Setting up an ODBC Connection to Pastel 14 in Windows 10

    Hi,
Im hoping SOMEONE can assist me. Back on Pastel after an 18 year break! I'm trying to set up a connection in Windows 10 to Pastel 14 via ODBC and although I managed fine in Windows 7, i'm becoming increasingly frustrated at the difficulty in Windows 10. I find the reporting in Pastel very limiting and would like to bring specific tables and fields through into Excel for better reporting. PLEASE HELP

If you have the Sage Intelligence module on your Pastel V14 package, you can create customised reports in Excel, and the module automatically creates the ODBC connection when you first run a report.

However, if you want to do it manually or if you don't have the Intelligence module, open the Pervasive Control Centre by typing in PCC in the Run field of Windows. Then click on the "New Database" link and the rest should be straightforward if you've done this before.

Hi Neville, it seems that I don't have Pervasive Control Centre. I type "PCC" in the run field and it returns nothing?

        Hi Anna,

The Pervasive Control Centre is automatically installed if Pervasive has been installed on your computer.

In Windows 10, go to the Start menu, scroll down to Pervasive and open it and you should see a sub-menu called "Control Centre and Documentation".

I've checked but there is only a folder PERVASIVE which definitely doesn't have a control centre listed?? Befuddling!!! Where to from here? Can I download from somewhere?

            Hi Anna,

You will need to reinstall Pervasive, this time making sure that it is a full installation, not a custom installation, and then the Pervasive Control Centre should be installed. If you need help with this, send me a direct email and we can arrange a TeamViewer session.

                Add remove software
                find Pervasive
                Select modify
make sure all tools are installed
