[Question] Pastel Partner - Changing year end

So I took over a clients pastel accounts and the year end was set incorrectly as February instead of September. Pastel support says just change the no. of periods to 7 and then do the year end at the end of September. But when I do this I get the error " Changes made to the financial periods are not compatible with the Tax Manager"

Now I am stuck, any suggestions on how to change my year end to September would be greatly appreciated ! Data has been captured so I would like to continue using the current set of accounts instead of opening a new company on pastel.

I suggest that you first clear the existing Tax Manager settings by going to Change...Reopen Tax Period/Clear Tax Manager Settings.

Then you should be able to number of financial periods.

After you have done the year end, change the number of financial periods (for the new year) back to 12.

Then you can re-establish your Tax Manager settings under Setup...Tax...Tax Manager.

      Hi Neville,

Thanks for the above, I have now done the year end. Changed periods back to 12. However, once I have edited "this year periods", I get the error "The start date cannot be greater than the end date".

The previous year was when I changed the periods to 7, so that I can close off at the end of September 2017. I did the year end, changed the periods back to 12 but it will not accept the changes.

Any Idea on how to fix this ?

      Thanks!

Click on the Last Year tab under Setup...Periods. Period 7 should end with 30 September 2017.

Then, under the This Year tab, Period 1 should start with 1 October 2017.

        Is that what you see?

          Hi Neville,

The prior period ends on 28.02.2018 - How weird is that !

I have created a new company and brought in my opening balances, got tired of fighting with pastel

Thanks for your response though !
