Cash book closing balance not the same as the following months cash book opening balance

Hi there

I have to complete manual recons for some accounts, Im fixing the books of a company.

I have just reconned May cashbook, and the closing balance does not agree to the opening balance at the beginning of June? The opening balance is closer to detailed ledger balance.

Could you please tell me why?
