Monthly remuneration

The blond is let loose today (yes, me! - again).

When SARS talks about "monthly remuneration",what exactly does it mean?

The explanation on their website "the amount paid or payable for that full month" is ... well, confusing.

Is it the basic monthly income (before overtime and deductions)

Or is it the Gross salary (overtime, leave sold, deductions like e.g. staff loans)

Or is it the Nett salary (amount left after UIF and PAYE is deducted, i.e. money in your pocket

I'm busy calculating ETI and it does make a big difference.

ETI is calculated on the monthly remuneration which is Gross salary.

Deductions do not form a part of Gross salary.

Participation is voluntary.
