[Question] Convert info from quickbooks to pastel

Hi All. I have a client who uses QuickBooks. They are not based in SA so they use the American Version! So I cannot take a backup and convert to the version we use in SA. I use Pastel as my choice of software. My question is: How must they export data so that I can import it into Pastel Partner V14? They will be using Sales, Purchases (Bills), Cash payments and of course bank. I can get the bank in .ofx format or even in csv and import that. Its the way QuickBooks exports the data that concerns me. What report do they export from in QuickBooks? Any help will be appreciated. Regards. Mike.

    Hi Mike

I found the Journal report, under the Accountant tab, to work best for this. Before exporting it to Excel, switch on all fields, hit the Expand button, then export to excel and manipulate it all you like.

However this is something you only ever want to do once. It is a huge time consuming task to get it right.

If you need to do this annually, I would much rather get a US copy of the particular QB they use. Then you can use the Accountant's Copy function and easily export any changes you make, for them to import.
