[Question] Pastel v11 - Registration of Workstaion

I have Pastel V11 set up as follows.

Server - XP machine registered and working properly.
Workstation - XP machine registered and working properly.
Problem Workstation - New Win7 machine replacing XP machine that was registered and working properly.

I installed Pastel on the new machine and have done the following.
    1. Set up shares to the folders on the XP server (Pastel11 and Pastel11/Custom/Registration)
    2. Set PartnerV11.exe to run as Administrator
    3. Enabled Linked Connections by creating a DWORD named EnableLinkedConnections with a value of 1 in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\System

When I try to register the Workstation, I get the following message.
"The Server registration has been tampered with and cannot be added"

Any help would be greatly appreciated

There is no need to share Pastel11/Custom/Registration on the server machine.

As long as Pastel11 is shared on the server, it should be fine.

I'm not sure why you did step 3 - generally no need to edit the registry at all.

On the Windows 7 machine, go to Control Panel...Users...Change User Account Control Access (UAC) and move the slider all the way to the bottom.

Hi Neville - thanks for the reply.

I have changed the UAC and restarted the computer, but still have the same problem.

If I try to add a company on the workstation, the "OK" is greyed out and if I try to register the workstation I still get the message ""The Server registration has been tampered with and cannot be added"

I edited the registry so that I could see the shared folders on the Win 7 machine when running PartnerV11.exe as Administrator.

        Hi Lloyd,

Perhaps we can arrange a quick TeamViewer session?

There may be something staring us in the face that you haven't picked up.

You can email or send me a PM with your TeamViewer details for both the server machine and the W7 machine.
