[Question] Pastel Xpress v12 Copy needed

I want to get another copy of Pastel express v12 for another computer.


I have been told that even if I find one it will be upgraded to version 14.
Is this true?

Does the build make a difference. I would like to run invoices on the one computer and the books on the other, that can be taken home when needed.
I would be exporting the invoices from the sales computer and importing it into the main one which has the GL on it.

Pastel said that I have to upgrade from 12 to 14 which will cost R2999 and R2500 for another user license, but then I have to use a network.

Is it true that once you have version 14 we have to pay a yearly license fee.

How many user licenses does your existing Xpress V12 package have? Open Help...About to find out.

If you have more than one user license, then you can install V12 onto the other computer, but that computer needs to be on the same network as your existing Xpress V12 computer, in order for the registration credentials to be read by the second computer.

If you have a single user license, then you cannot purchase additional user licenses for prior versions of Xpress, which means that you will have to upgrade your existing V12 to V14 and then purchase an additional V14 user license.

Pastel has changed their pricing model to a subscription paid model since V14, much like Microsoft Office and Adobe have done.

I have only a one user License.
That is why was hoping to find a version 12 and still register it as version 12 on the second computer with its own license.

Looks like that is not going to work.
I might have to change over to a free package rather for the future.

Is there any packages that anyone can advice me to use. I have inventory.

What is the cost that Pastel will be charging yearly for version 14.
