    [Question] Pastel Network Setup

    Hi ,

Can someone please assist me with the following:

We are currently running Pastel V11 and I am trying to setup a network for me and my assistant so that both of us can work on Pastel simultaneously. We are both running Windows 8.1 Pro, both registered on Pastel as 'servers' and the Pastel Root folders are all save on PC1. I shared the Pastel11 file on the network and then mapped the folder as a network drive on PC2. When PC1 is in Pastel, PC2 cannot see or open any of the companies and vice versa.

Is this a Pastel problem or a network problem? Previously i could have accessed Pastel from both PC's before we ran the Windows 8.1 update.

    Any suggestions?

This, I think, is the problem.

Only one machine (PC1) can register Pastel as the server, and the other machine (PC2) needs to register Pastel as a workstation via the mapped drive to PC1. Obviously, for this to work, you need to have a multi-user licence for Pastel.

Thank you Neville. We have a multi-user licence and will see if I can register as a workstation and see if it solves my problem. Many thanks for your assistance

When you register PC2 as a workstation, browse to the mapped drive, and then browse to the Custom/Registration folder.

Has your computer only recently updated itself from Windows 8.0 to Windows 8.1?

If so, have a look at the attached email that I received from Pastel, dealing with this issue.
