    PASTEL V14 LOSING COMPANIES

    Hi please can anyone help me. I have upgraded from Xpress v11 to Advantage. When trying to convert the company I am getting an error 70 code. The conversion happens but I am worried about this message. Now it is asking me to change all the passwords in my advantage and use Alpha, numeric and a special character. It also keeps losing the companies when I log out of Pastel and I have to add the company again. Once in Pastel all is working fine but I am going mad with the constant losing of the companies. Please, please can someone direct me on what is happening I am tearing my hair out.

    Hi,

    You have indicated a number of issues, and they may not be related.

    Firstly, the error 70 message indicates a permissions issue. Are you running Pastel over a network?

    Secondly, the stricter password requirement is a new feature introduced in Pastel V14, and is not an error.

    Thirdly, what Windows operating system are you using? If it is Windows 8, is it Windows 8.1?

      Thank you for clarifying the passwords.
      I am running all windows 7 ultimate computers on a network and I have installed Pervasive for workgroup on all of them

        Hi everyone
        I have solved my problem.
        Just wanted to share what worked for me in case anyone else has this problem.
        I copied the company to another folder
        Then deleted the company within pastel
        I then made a new company
        Logged into it to make sure was ok
        Then I copied the contents of the old company folder to the new company replaced all the files in the destination folder

        My problem solved.
        I hope this helps anyone else with the same problem.
