    Pastel Tax Report

    Here's an interesting one!

I do monthly VAT returns. The Tax Report has been fine every month and I always do a manual calculation as well to double-check.

I did the year-end roll over in the middle of March.

Now when I do the Tax Report it seems to be "stuck" on the figures I did at roll-over. In other words, it does not "see" any of the March entries after year-end.

I have done a data integrity check as well as "Rebuilt Tax Period and Date" - I get no error reports, and the problem is not rectified.

I have re-opened the Tax period for Feb and re-run it ... it is correct.

I close the Feb Tax period again - and the same "fault" occurs.

If I close the March Period and do an April Tax Report, however - it seems to correct itself again.

Any one else experienced anything like this?

    Any suggestions Neville?

    Hi Mike,

I have seen similar situations with bi-monthly VAT periods, in which only one of the two months reflects on the Tax Type report.

The fix for those situations has been to go to Change...Reopen Tax Period/Clear Tax Manager Settings, and then to rerun the Tax Manager set up.

Perhaps this will work for you?

        Hi

My current Pastel Tax Period is Feb/Mar 2015. However, when I want to view the Pastel Tax Type Report it refers to the current period being 01/02/2014 - 01/03/2014!!
Why would that be? My Change ... Reopen Tax Period / Clear Tax Manager Settings is greyed out and inactive. How do I change the current Tax Period to the correct period?

Hi TriciaG. Have you not opened last year's company by mistake?

No - I am currently working in a new pastel company for the 2015/2016 Tax Year having taken on the closing balances as prior year journals as at 28 Feb 2015. I have closed all other VAT periods for the previous year as prompted. Even having done that the option is still not available.

Do you have supervisor access rights to the company?
