[Question] Processing 'out of period' transactions

    Good Evening,

I recently setup Pastel Xpress V12 for my employer using 1 March 2014 - 28 February 2015 as the financial year during the setup process.

My employer would now like me to start entering transactions for January 2014 but there is no period for setup for this.

Is it possible for me to enter transactions before the financial year I entered on setup starts or will I have to start from the beginning (setup the system again) using the current financial year first?

    Thanks

Yes, you can process prior year transactions. The only exception is documents (i.e. invoices, credit notes) which cannot be processed in the prior year.

In order to process a prior year journal, open the journal and then click on the Settings button at the bottom. In the next screen, untick the option named "This Year Transactions" and then close the Settings screen.

You will now see the words "Last Year" appear in red at the bottom of the journal.
