    Neville,

Please help, look on the batch i have sent, the last entry is a USD transaction, when i update the batch, Pastel is failing to convert it for me from local currency to USD amounts. I noted i had not put the exchange rate which i did but still the problem is there. What other parameter could i have left?

      Importing Journal

I have about 5 pages worth of entries that were captured in the wrong account on pastel. To correct this i need to journal each one out and then to the correct account. Is there anyway to export the transaction details and import it into journals to shorten the process?

Clive is correct - your CSV file format is incorrect. I have attached a sample one-line GL journal for you to look at. A tip: if you want to make sure that you use the correct format, manually create a single line entry in Pastel and then export the batch to a file, with CSV as the file extension. Also, don't include any double-quotation marks in your CSV file, i.e. "

In Windows 8, over and above what Clive suggested, on the same Regional Settings screen, change the decimal symbol from a comma to a full stop and repeat the two edits in the Currency tab. Also make sure that your system is set to English South Africa.
        Hi Neville,

At first, let me thank you for the absolutely valuable help that you provide to our community!

I have set up the excel file as directed in the Sage Self help documentation, after inputting data, deleting the first line (Headings) and saving as a CSV. I try to import into Pastel, I keep on getting the same error:

"Line 1: Period must be 1 to 13 only"

Could you possibly help with this error?

P.S: Find attached Excel File and CSV file for reference.

        Thanks in advance!

          Hi Dylan,

I have checked the CSV file that you attached, and it seems fine. I also successfully imported it into a General Journal.

Not sure why you are having a problem. Have you tried importing the exact same file that you attached?
