Allocating a Deposit as Split Deposit to Various Customers

    Good day,

I need help with the following transaction on pastel, please.

How to allocated a deposit to various customers? For example, in a situation as follows:
I received a deposit of R 150,000 and I must split it to 3 customers as R 50,000 on each customer

The bank statement has a deposit of R 150,000 and I would assume same must be recorded on pastel, but now how do I allocated the R 50,000 to each customer?

    Thank you in advance

You need to capture three line items in the cash book receipts journal, one for each customer and with their respective portions of the total deposit. Make sure that each of the three lines share the same reference, so that the three lines are consolidated in the cash book report and in the bank reconciliation.

      Hi Neville,
If I understand well, the above means the bank GL on pastel will show three (3) entries as deposits instead of the one amount (total amount) as per the bank statement

No, the three entries will be consolidated into a single entry on the GL bank account, provided that you use a common reference for all three entries.

Correction: the entries will only be consolidated on the cash book details report and on the bank reconciliation, but not on the GL detailed ledger.
