Is it possible to create an ODBC link to the Pastel Payroll Database. I am a new Pastel Payroll user. Used to work with VIP and created customised reports in Excell via ODBC and need to do the same with Pastel Payroll.
Thank you very much for the info. I have never worked with the Pervasive Control Centre before. I will give it a try and post again if I do not get it right.
You can open the Pervasive Control Centre by typing PCC in the "Run" box, just above the Windows Start button.
Once you have created the database link, open Excel and then go to Data...From Other Sources...From Microsoft Query. You will then see your database link listed - select it and start playing!
Hi,
Thanks. The link works perfectly. Now I just need to get familiar with the structure of the database. Do anyone know where I would be able to find a guide indicating which information is stored in which table? I am specificly looking for the table with the current periods payslip information. I need to generate the following report in Excell:
Employee Code,
All employee earnings listed seperately,
All deductions listed seperately,
Nett pay amount.
