CHANGING YEAR END PERIODS IN PASTEL PARTNER V11

    Hi there

Please could anyone help me. I have a client who's year runs from July 2012 to July 2013 and they have posted entries up to december 2012. Now they would like to change their year end to December and would like to run a year-end now and make January 2013 the first period. I have tried to change the number of periods in the current company to 6 before running year end so that December becomes the last period but it will not let me do this. Each time I try to override the 12 with a 6 in the Setup....Periods it reverts back to 12.

Look forward to hearing from anyone who can help me am desperate.

    Thanks in advance.

Normally it should be possible to do what you are trying to do.

It appears that your client may have posted entries beyond 31 December 2012, either in error or deliberately, which would prevent you from reducing the number of periods from 12 to 6. Even if they posted the entries by mistake and then reversed them, there is still transaction history beyond period 6.

Can you confirm whether this is the case? If it is, then I can use my database editing software to remove those transactions.

      hello

Thank you so much for your reply. I also thought that and I checked, but there are definitely no transactions that I can find beyond 31 December 2012. I ran the TB, Customers and Suppliers Detailed Ledgers between 1 Jan 2013 and July 2013 but I cant see any transactions.

        That's very odd.

If you have TeamViewer, I can log onto your system remotely and check it out. Let me know when it would suit you for me to do so.

                      My pleasure.

For the benefit of readers of this thread, I detected transactions that were erroneously posted in period 13 (July 2013) and then reversed, resulting in a net zero balance in period 13. After deleting those transactions with my database editor, and then resetting the data field for Last Accessed Period, all was good.
