I'm currently doing voluntary work at an organisation and need the data that is in Pastel exported to Excel so that I can use it easier. And re-arrange it etc.
I'm very familiar with Excel but have never used Pastel.
Anyone able to help with very explicit directions?
Hi Berhardshap. What version of Pastel are you running - and what data in particular are you wanting to export?
The best way to get data to Excel is to go to view, select the information you want, and instead of selecting print to "screen" you use the drop down menu to select "Excel".

Apart from Mike suggestion, you might want to consider getting the Business Intelligence Centre (BIC) module, which will allow you to set up template report layouts in Excel which are dynamically linked to your Pastel database.
You can then literally produce Excel reports at a press of a button.
Drop me an email if you would like to know more about BIC.
Thanks. I did it this morning and it all worked out fine. They are using Pastel Partner 2009.
Having a bit of a problem saving it to my flash drive. Going back there tomorrow and hope i can sort it all out.

I would like to know how to export the CASH Book to Excel, so that the client can load his data, and I can import it back into Pastel and just fix up errors. I know it's possible...
Thanks.
