Accessing Quickbooks Desktop with Excel Power Query

I would like to extract some data into Excel Power Query from one of my client's Quickbooks Desktop database.

I don't have a licensed copy of Quickbooks on my machine, but the client sent me a copy of their database file, and I have installed a trial version of Quickbooks so that I can open the company.

Apparently I need a Quickbooks ODBC driver in order to access the data with Power Query, but I would like to avoid paying any subscription if possible, as this is a one-off exercise. Is there a trial version of the driver, or is there any other way that I can access the database with Power Query?

Check if there’s a trial version available from the ODBC driver provider. Another option is to export the data you need from QuickBooks into Excel manually, then use Power Query to manipulate the data within Excel. This workaround can help you avoid additional costs for a one-time task.

Looks like they were trying to build some credibility before trying to do some link-building in another thread.
