Hi Razinatjie
It just so happens that I have had to replace a collapsed roof over my garage, it is an IBR sheet roof (Flat, 1.2Deg. fall).
1. I do.
2. I would not recommend it, but that is personal preference.
3. There are literally 10's of options, if not 100's. Corrugated (wave), IBR (valley 3x width of crest, trapezoidal shape), both of these are available in Galvanised steel, Stainless steel, UPVC, Fibreglass, Chromodec(R), Etc. And then there are various options of "Big 6" and "Big 9", these are brand names (Everite, I think), also a corrugated sheet but the corrugations are much larger, the materials used for these I can't say? Then there's rolled Aluminium and Copper sheeting, but is a very specialised trade. It's your choice which one is best for you.
4. As to the pros. & cons. I don't really know, but I can tell you, I had no fun putting up the sheeting on my roof, the tiled roof next door was far easier.
5. Some contractors say that it is best to paint a galvanised roof, some say not. My roof regularly needed the mounting nails (screws) to be hammered (screwed) down as the constant expansion/contraction causes them to work loose and the sealing washers under the screws also don't last for ever. The biggest problem is maintaining the beams (rafters) on which the sheets lie, some contractors will say they need linseed oil, some say creosote, others advise painting the beams. It's up to you.
6. See 3.
In summary, I would rather cough up the extra dough and get a contractor to put up a tiled or slate roof with a proper pitch, with Facias, Barge boards, and Guttering. There are even more options here and their maintenance is much less. "Google" is a good resource for you to use to gain some idea of where to go from here. I know for sure, next time I will definitely hire a contractor...

the first thing to remember when putting up a roof using steel profiles eg. corrugated or IBR whatever the protection galv. or chromodec
always make sure any filings from drilling for the screw holes is carefully cleaned
and when using galvanized sheeting paint the laps (side and end) with 'Ravenol' bitumen protection to prevent corosion
