Anything new on public swimming pools regarding electrical installations ?
Any tips on what to look out for and common mistakes people make with large pool installations will be appreciated.
I need to test a few pools, so any help will be great.

Nothing "new" that I am aware of.
One thing I can tell you from experience, makes sure the timer is a dual timer which is mechanical interlocked, so if the timer stops so does the chlorine dosing.
Many years ago there was an incident where the pump stopped and the chlorine carried on dosing, it filled up the pipe and when the pump was switched back on again there children in the pool, need I say more. I came up with a solution to that problem and designed a circuit and fitted a dual timer which was mechanically linked so that if the pump stopped for whatever reason, be it the timer or the o/l tripping, the chlorine would stop.
