    Convert CC to PTY

    Hi

I have a simple question, if you convert a CC to PTY do you get a new VAT no or do you keep using the CC VAT no ?

That is an interesting point....if you don't manage to get an answer here try calling the SARS helpline 0860 12 12 18. I have found them really helpful in the past. And please report back here so the rest of us know too.

At the very least, you'd have to advise SARS of the change of particulars of owner. Thinking about it, it's not just VAT. The same question can be asked of all registrations.

Slightly on a tangent, when I converted from sole proprietor and partnerships to Pty Ltds, the bank forced me to change my bank account.

More irritating than anything else in most instances. But imagine if your CC is carrying an accumulated loss for income tax purposes.
