Hey guys. I am new to the forum and still finding my way around it (If I created this thread in the wrong place please move it/tell me where to go ). I am sure that this has been answered before but I have no clue what to search for or where to look on the forum so if you can either point me to the correct thread or perhaps help me with this issue I'd really appreciate it.
I am currently advertising a few products on my site. I am going to type all of this out as I don't know how to explain it otherwise, here goes:
Product A - R22.37 each | QTY 1 | Nett R 22.37
Product B - R15.70 each | QTY 1 | Nett R 15.70
Product C - R13.60 each | QTY 4 | Nett R 54.40
Product D - R25.00 each | QTY 2 | Nett R 50.00
Product E - R80.70 each | QTY 1 | Nett R 80.70
Delivery - R13.16 each | QTY 1 | Nett R 13.16
Sub Total : R 236.33
Amt excl tax: R 236.33
Tax: R 33.09
Total R 269.42
The problem I have is that the prices I have on the website is advertised as inclusive of vat, this means that if I go along and add the prices on the site together I get R 269.40 -- see the example below (Note that these are vat incl.):
Product A - R25.50 each | QTY 1 | Incl R 25.50
Product B - R17.90 each | QTY 1 | Incl R 17.90
Product C - R15.50 each | QTY 4 | Incl R 62.00
Product D - R28.50 each | QTY 2 | Incl R 57.00
Product E - R92.00 each | QTY 1 | Incl R 92.00
Delivery - R15.00 each | QTY 1 | Incl R 15.00
Total incl R 269.40
Somewhere along the line there is a R 0.02 added to the price when creating the invoice in Pastel. I suspect that is is coming from the backwards calculation on the products' price in the inventory (I type in the inclusive price for a product and Pastel auto calculates the Excl price).
Now the thing is this. If I use the "rounding" function in pastel - lets say to the nearest 10c then the price on the above invoice would round to R269.40 which is correct. But lets say that I multiply the invoice by 6 (eg: R269.42 x 6 = R1616.52) then it'll round to R1616.50 right? But here is where the problem comes in - When I calculate the incl price from the website then I would get R269.40 x 6 = R1616.40 - now there's a R0.10 difference. This poses a problem on much bigger invoices as the cents then become rands.
I hope I am making sense? I am fairly new to Pastel so I am sure I am missing something somewhere. Does anybody have any idea on how I would get around this problem?
