A person has been working at a privately owned retail store for 2 years and being paid on a monthly basis. No existing working contract.
This person and the owner had a disagreement on work ethics and after the christmas break, the owner sent this person an email and said do not return to work today, I will come and talk to you at your house later on.
This person tendered their resignation immediately and as this person still had 14 days annual leave due to them, used this annual leave as notice period. This was obviously accepted by the employer as no further communication was received from him.
Is this person still owed a salary for this notice period?

Is anyone able to assist me with advice on the above?

Theoretically it should be paid leave, however we do not have all the information to be able to categorically state that this is the case.

I think the best is to let it go and move on. It sounds like the person really wants to keep flogging a dead horse!
