They should record the comments made to those pre-recorded voices....it is one of those times when people tell companies exactly what they think.

What I really hate is when the number is withheld and they want to know if you have a credit card and the list goes on. Sadly Telkom doesn’t protect their clients against scams they would rather provide a safe way for the scammer to do her/his job easily and without fear of getting reported.
They know it is a nightmare to get the info so really there is no stopping them. As for the legit company… Again thank Telkom, because Telkom doesn’t protect their clients the client gets irritated and angry when someone just phone out of the blue. Fact is if Telkom did protect their clients then the person receiving the call may be more interested.
But as for being employed to do cold calling? First person I would call is myself… If the number is blocked it is a scam and then I would just get a list of Telkom employees and phone them see how they like it….

Or the call starts: "Hi, can I speak to the owner of the business"
Then I ask "In connection with"
and they go "Cleaning products"
and I want to say "F@*&%& off"
or they go "Hi, can I speak to the accountant"
and I go "In connection with"
and they go "A donation"
and I want to say "F@*&%& off"
or they go "Hi, and how are you today"
and I want to say "F@*&%& off"
Scammers have an active database that they share, sounds ridicules at first but to make their scams more believable they need more than just basic info. They know about your bank accounts clothing accounts details about your home and if the property is yours or not. They even have your medical records! How they got that is a mystery to me after all it is supposed to be confidential.
Fact is our privacy is compromised in the worst possible way and is exploited to a point where I change banks just because my paranoia got the better of me. As a test I registered a new SIM card and only gave the info to my account holders and the bank. No one else had the details of my new accounts and new number.
Behold 3 days in I got my first call “insurance” second call “investment opportunity” the list goes on. But it did narrow it down for me as only 5 entities knew about my new info. And not even a week goes by and every tom dick and a$$hole has the number and ALL my banking info and all my account info?
How is that possible? I don’t know but something is seriously wrong.
Because of these systems cold calling became a dead art in most cases. Yes you do get lucky but the chances are the scammer also got lucky and the words “guilty by association” comes to mind.
