    Verifying payments

    Hi all

I have a question.I am starting an online store and me and my business partner were having a discussion about ways people can be and have been tricked into thinking they have received payment/money into there bank account to find out they have been tricked after a sale has gone through or services was rendered.

Does anyone have tips or tricks they use or recommend to make sure?

Just make sure that you can see the payment in your own bank account. NEVER EVER take their word for it.

Never trust a cheque deposit until your bank clears it. Then look at using a payment service we use payfast,
Only stress when you can change the outcome!

I quite agree with IanF. The money is not there until it reflects in your bank account.

Dont take a faxed copy of a deposit slip as gospel ........... it can be changed.

If you see a deposit into your account - check first to see if it is a cheque and then wait the 10 days before releasing the goods.
