Off topic? Nah

Lemme keep up the mode of off topic here:

The manifesto was twice as long... and among the cut-to-make-it-easily-readable victims was:

Transparency equals trust - that is the basis for leadership and pull.

A recurring theme in my blog, and in my view the most important aspect of blogs and forums.

Just issuing bulletins is not enough, one have to open for comments and questions - and above all, engage in the discussion. Transparency means that you can see the occasional stupidity and dumb answer, warts and all!

(Pull BTW is my view on how interaction with customers shall happen, opposite to push which is the main trait of "marketing" (selling, advertising).)

And it applies not only to the external world, it's sometimes more important internally - leadership is useless without transparency - and thus blogs and open forums are perhaps the most important tools in bringing down the organisational hierarchies!

Ah, a last off-the-to-of-my-head - difference between blogs and forums?
A blog is like a conference - a keynote plus q&a session.
A forum is like barcamp - everybody must participate and the threads evolves.
Good thing, both are needed!

Hehe, OK, very last one - had a hands on experience in these matters once upon the time, read more here: http://thingamy.typepad.com/sigs_blo...days_netw.html

Cheers!
