Provisional Tax payer and claiming refund

    HI,

This is the first year I am doing my provisional returns myself. I am struggling to understand how to claim refund. I believe I have over paid and in the past my auditors have handled it and I received a refund.

Am I missing something? Where do I submit all my expenses and do a final return if such a thing exists.

I have completed my wifes return for her however she that was a simple ITR12. I cant seem to get my head around how the as a provisional tax payer I claim back through efilling.

    Thank you in advance.
    Regards,
    Wesley

Hi Wesley123 - in addition to your provisional returns you have to submit a ITR12 as well. SARS then deducts the payments that you have made in your provisional returns and if you have overpaid the refund should show there.

You may have to activate that tax type on your eFiling.

You need to click on the "Home" tab - "User" - "tax types"

Look for the ITR12 and IT Penalty box and click request. This should enable you to have access to your ITR12.

There is a help button at the top of the screen.

It could also be that your auditor still has "control" of that tax type for you. You then need to request it via eFiling. On the eFiling log-in screen I see that there is an option for "Manage Tax Type Transfer".
