Hi Guys.
Can i please ask for your guys opinion? A registered City power contractor came to install a temporary cable from my meter box into my neighbours meter box because they couldn't resolve the tripping of the original cable that was sparking underground. This was done on 5th March and I'm 2 houses down from my neighbour.
Even though I'm not ecstatic with that fact that this temporary connection seems to be a permanent fixture now since its been 3.5 months. My issue is how they connected it. I understand that I shouldn't question registered city power electrical technicians because its not my field so I'm probably totally unqualified to say anything. But I'd like to ask here so that others can educate me so that I don't need to be so paranoid.
So I don't feel comfortable with the wire they connected. I asked my neighbour and his house uses electrical geyser, oven and stove tops. This cable burned today. I'm pretty sure that similar contractors are just going to rejoin this cable today.
Is this cable fine according to all the codes?
And is there any risk to my wiring into my meter box and home because of it?
Just as a extra update, and maybe again I'm out of line to question this, because on 8th March many City power officials came to investigate when I queried the connection and they didn't do anything about it.
