Quicker why to populate the Inventory Integration/Groups?

    Hi guys

We are currently busy with inventory code setups for one of our customers. I have always loved using inventory codes as it enables businesses to have deeper business intelligence as you can use both quantity and unit price to calculate total value.

Creating inventory codes is easy as Pastel has an export/import function within the GUI. Creating the Inventory Integration/Groups however is very slow for me. I have only seen that you can capture it on a line by line basis within Setup>Inventory (tab Integration/Groups).

Does anybody know of a quicker way to populate this table?

    Hi Alec

If you have the knowledge, you can import directly into the inventorygroups table in PVSW (AccGrp.dat). Remember to pad the InvGroup with leading zero's. The InvGroup column is the primary key. In PCC right click the inventorygroups table, select export data. Tick the "Write column names in first row" so you can see what you will be changing. Edit the information you want (can be done in Excel/csv), then delete the existing data in accgrp and import your file. If you only want new lines added, delete the existing lines (primary key is invgroup) in you export file prior to import.

Thanks Kevin. I really appreciate the tip. I have also been caught out a few times by the leading zero in inventory group when importing Items.

Will most definitely give this a go. Thanks again.
