    Quick Books - Customer Journals

I am hoping someone here can assist.

I personally have never worked with QB (Pastel fan all the way) - one of my clients uses QB and needs to process customer journals (writing off bad debts/discounts, etc) - I had a look and found the section for general journals but nothing that remotely resembles a customer journal.

Could any of you QB fundi's point me in the right direction please.

You do a general journal. The trick is to add the client account in the Name column for the Accounts receivable credit entry line.

Be careful - work too much with QB and you might get converted

lol!! doubt it - the ease of which one can randomly change entries makes the accountant in me sceptical.

    Two tips on that:
    • Audit trail (think of it as a honey trap)
    • Closing date - the ability to lock down all entries prior to a certain date.

ps - my auditors used to feel the same way. They have been converted.

The concerns really arise from not being aware of all the features of the product.

    Hi Martin,

It was a bundled 5 user licence upgrade special at the time for about R2 500.00 (from memory), a deal I haven't seen since (or anything even remotely close).

I'm planning to upgrade to a later version and it seems I'm in for about R4 000.00 per licence for the Premier edition with no sign of a bulk deal in sight. (Current versions of Pro don't seem to have all the features that Pro had in 2003.)
