Looking for Dating website members, any ideas?

    Hi

i have recently started a new free dating and social website, and is quickly seeing some difficulty in getting new members to sign up, anyone out there that has done this?

How do you manage to get members to join if there is no members on the website yet?

    kind regards

One of the better web resources for social media start-ups is The Admin Zone.

Make no mistake, starting a social media website takes a lot of work (or big capital if you're going to launch via main-stream media). The web is awash with start-up attempts that never got any momentum going.

What I would do is advertise this URL on Gumtree, and make joining free until end of this year. Be active on the website, adding info, blogs, tid bits etc etc to show people there's activity. Advertise once a day on Gumtree, changing the wording slightly so their filters don't mark your posts as double posts or similar posts. Don't spam, just advertise once a day to make sure you're at the top of the page so to speak.

Just my thoughts on what I would do.

Hi Marcoh ( I love the Flirthasie!!) Don't forget about Facebook - you can start a Facebook page - a few ideas would be to feature your newest member on a daily basis in a fun and interesting way. I met my fiance through an internet dating site so I really hope you can get this off the ground! We've been together for 4 very happy years now. Good luck!

Make it free, you don’t want any barriers to entry (once its popular then you can sell some add space)

You got White Dating and Black Dating.

I am sure that White Label Dating has to be where Coconuts meet.

I run a Niche Dating site thru the Dating Factory for Marathon Runners (Cannot get much more niche that that) www.runnersdatingcentral.co.za.

Dating online is big business, I found my previous attempts were too general and that i need to be more specialist. I chose Dating Factory as my partner after researching all the big guys in the business.

They provide a great backup, tools and info to make it work. That is White Label Dating. Coconuts are just too fattening!
