Question asked and answered. They don't take it to court because it wouldn't fly; they just harass you and wear you down.

BTW - the "just pay up - it's cheaper in the end" approach was my initial thought at the start of this thread. I recently paid up on a long standing issue with SARS for much the same reason - just to get the issue off my table and be more productive.

Maybe I'm getting too cynical about what's right vs what works just of late - but if I spent my time trying to fight for what's right on everything that crosses my desk, I'd be incredibly unproductive.

What bugs me a bit is in a general way society seems to be getting worse with this - there are more and more tata ma chance operations out there nibbling away at the margins. By being "practical" am I contributing to the problem?

For now I live with the fact that every now and then I bite back, and when I do I go all out. But I try to pick my battles to make sure they're worth it.
