Would the ANC accept defeat at the polls?

Some time ago I wrote a piece on my website called "Shame On You Africa" One of the paragraphs read as follows
When we look at South Africa how certain are we that it is not going to go the same route as the most of the rest of Africa. If the African National Congress lost an election would they accept defeat graciously? Anyone who believes so is living in a fool’s paradise. I am sure they would find a way to hang onto power and the wealth that goes with it. Land reforms are showing signs of going the same as are happening in Zimbabwe.
In view of what is going on in the Ivory Coast which is one of many such issues on the African Continent what are the chances of it happening in South Africa.

The current government in our country are helping Mugabe "stay in power" against the wishes of the Zimbabwean population. Does anybody really think that they'll do that, AND step down gracefully if they were beaten in an election? No Way.

I just have this nagging feeling that should they lose an election the word that you use namely anarchy would would rear its ugly head again. The ANC are trying their level best to destabilize the Western Cape. The minions of the ANC would make the country ungovernable. They have had enough practice at it in the past.

The ANC deploys its cadres into management positions - they are STILL fighting a war of independence.
