Well you never win anything get anything and it doesn’t matter how many numbers I block it keeps on showing up on my mobile phone. Telemarketing and mobile spam is abuse of customer information and that is the end of it.

I get about 20 to 30 "please call me" a week. About 90% are from people I know... So sending them a please call me back works...

We as consumers need to take action against 'spammers' and maske use of the complaints commision set up to protect our rights. As I believe if we dont things are bound to get worse.

I have come across the following website www.smscodes.co.za which is quite usefull in identifying the spammers which can assist in taking them to task.

Hopefully spamming will stop and the market will be clean enought for legitimate advertising to SMS on a purely opt in basis.

Yup, how the hell is that!!! The worst of it is it's the same add repeated 5 times in a row!!

I tried a letter to BCCSA but i just got a load of rubbish back.

One or 2 placed adds wouldn't get to me.. but it goes way beyond

I think mobile marketing is making a ton of money. Just look at some of the new one's that I suspect is catching a lot of lesser educated people. Sms "WIN" to blah blah bla. Or sms "Lotto" to blah blah blah.

The perception that mobile marketing is creating for itself is most damaging in this country, unless off course we accept that like in the USA, there is a lot of fools around. Just look at the majority of the youth in the USA, and a lot of that is trickling down to SA I see.

I suppose we are all young once (I still am) but honestly, is it me getting old or is the mean age of retard increasing?

No, not at all. Contrary to popular belief, lots of people are dim witted across all ages "Take our goverment - Juliaaaas is young and Jakop Z is old and they are equally stupid" - there are just many many more blunt pencils :-).
